I think I can speak for all the girls by saying, SWORN had a spectacular holiday party this year. Once again, thanks Sharon Carfora www.nicholsvillage.com and the Inn at Nichols Village for the Mimosas and what a surprise, Chocolate covered Strawberries!

Thank you girls, for all the gifts you donated for "Toys for Tots". It must have given you a warm feeling on Christmas knowing we made Christmas a little brighter for some unfortunate children again this year.

What a day... we swore in our officers, handed over our check from our wine tour to help women with breast cancer, gave toys to children, exchanged gifts with each other, had fun drawings and enjoyed our friendships. All this while sipping on mimosas and savoring chocolate covered strawberries along with our fantastic breakfast. What more can I say? We're more than business acquaintances, we're friends!

Thank you everyone for being so generous and making this day so special. It was a truly a bonding experience for everyone.

We had a few guests, Allison Mendola,
Jeny Kaye and Barb Garrett. Also a surprise visit from the Abington Journal, Joan Matsui, who took pictures for the newspaper. Thank you for the publicity! I have a feeling we will make the news a few more time this year. Keep up the good work Beverly Bright www.brighthappenings.com.

We also would like to welcome our new members: Jenny Kaye, Beautician: e-mail, stedehand@yahoo.com and Barb Garrett, Home Mortgage: e-mail, bgarrett@summit-mortage.com. Welcome Ladies!

Happy 2010! Let's make this a stellar year for SWORN! The executive committee have put together exciting plans and ideas for the upcoming year. Lets all try to bring in new business women and grow SWORN. Remember, the more businesses involved, the easier it is to promote our own businesses. Together we can all win. We are a group of powerful, dynamic business women who are the best in our fields. We are proud of what we do and proud of our accomplishments. Together, we are a powerful source. We help our community, promote each other and each of us provide important roles as SWORN members in our organization. I personally am proud to be a part of this group and proud to say, "I am a SWORN BUSINESS WOMAN!"

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, January 12, 8:00 a.m. at the Inn at Nichols Village, Clarks Summit, Pa. If any business woman would like to join, please contact any of our members. The first meeting is free, so come, see what we are all about and enjoy a free breakfast with this exceptional group of business women.

This years fund raisers will be as follows:

2) Bus Trip to NYC for as yet unnamed beneficiary

Please remember to bring in your notebooks, business cards and extra pages of your business information for our new members, also anything you would like to be placed about your business in our binders. I, like most of you are extremely busy over the holidays, so I realize how easily we can forget about our SWORN fliers. Please tack up your fliers in 3 local businesses. Don't forget to cut the tabs so women can easily tear one off.

Our guest speaker will be Danielle Flemming from Danielle and Company. She will be making a power presentation on marketing. It should be very interesting.

November Meeting

Once again, it was so nice chatting and exchanging business cards with everyone at the November 10th meeting. The meeting was held in the Commons at Nichols Village, Clarks Summit. The women started gathering at 8:00 am with saying their hello's and admiring the delicious breakfast buffet laid out before us. At 8:30 the meeting started with two of our members as speakers. Kathleen Mac Dowell and Anne Kessler

Kathleen Mac Dowell, ERA One Source Realty, www.era1sourcerealty.com started by informing us that the Government Tax Credit has been extended. "It's a buyers market!" she said. "If you have any extra cash, now is the time to become a landlord." She explained that there are numerous deals out there including handyman specials that just need some simple maintenance. You could buy with the intention to rent or offer a lease to own. She explained about leases and all hands went up with legal questions. Having a lawyer on board helped, thank you Jill Spott www.sheilslaw.com for all the free legal advise. Kathleen offered to send anyone a FREE foreclosure list. E-mail all inquires to PoconoRealtor@aol.com.

Anne Kessler www.annekess.agelessway.com from Nu Skin Anti Aging, demonstrated a 1/2 face "Nu Skin" on Kathleen Mac Dowell. She used all of her cleansers and creams along with the new technology of Ageloc. Ageloc is the specially formulated gels to be used with the Galvanic Spa. The Galvanic Spa is a hand held battery operated device which sends positive and negative currents to the muscles underneath the skin. By using this device, the skin gets cleansed and the cells rejuvenated. You can see the difference in one application. Nu Skin Enterprises is a 25 year old company with a 5 A1 Dunn and Bradstreet rating and is listed on the NY stock exchange. It houses 100 staffed Scientist and sells in 50 countries. Anne explained, "You can host a fun house party to demo the prod
uct!" She is also looking for anyone interested in working for this amazing company. If anyone is interested you can reach her at annekess@bigplanet.com.
