I think I can speak for all the girls by saying, SWORN had a spectacular holiday party this year. Once again, thanks Sharon Carfora www.nicholsvillage.com and the Inn at Nichols Village for the Mimosas and what a surprise, Chocolate covered Strawberries!

Thank you girls, for all the gifts you donated for "Toys for Tots". It must have given you a warm feeling on Christmas knowing we made Christmas a little brighter for some unfortunate children again this year.

What a day... we swore in our officers, handed over our check from our wine tour to help women with breast cancer, gave toys to children, exchanged gifts with each other, had fun drawings and enjoyed our friendships. All this while sipping on mimosas and savoring chocolate covered strawberries along with our fantastic breakfast. What more can I say? We're more than business acquaintances, we're friends!

Thank you everyone for being so generous and making this day so special. It was a truly a bonding experience for everyone.

We had a few guests, Allison Mendola,
Jeny Kaye and Barb Garrett. Also a surprise visit from the Abington Journal, Joan Matsui, who took pictures for the newspaper. Thank you for the publicity! I have a feeling we will make the news a few more time this year. Keep up the good work Beverly Bright www.brighthappenings.com.

We also would like to welcome our new members: Jenny Kaye, Beautician: e-mail, stedehand@yahoo.com and Barb Garrett, Home Mortgage: e-mail, bgarrett@summit-mortage.com. Welcome Ladies!

Happy 2010! Let's make this a stellar year for SWORN! The executive committee have put together exciting plans and ideas for the upcoming year. Lets all try to bring in new business women and grow SWORN. Remember, the more businesses involved, the easier it is to promote our own businesses. Together we can all win. We are a group of powerful, dynamic business women who are the best in our fields. We are proud of what we do and proud of our accomplishments. Together, we are a powerful source. We help our community, promote each other and each of us provide important roles as SWORN members in our organization. I personally am proud to be a part of this group and proud to say, "I am a SWORN BUSINESS WOMAN!"

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, January 12, 8:00 a.m. at the Inn at Nichols Village, Clarks Summit, Pa. If any business woman would like to join, please contact any of our members. The first meeting is free, so come, see what we are all about and enjoy a free breakfast with this exceptional group of business women.

This years fund raisers will be as follows:

1) Cocktail Party this summer to benefit the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter

2) Bus Trip to NYC for as yet unnamed beneficiary

Please remember to bring in your notebooks, business cards and extra pages of your business information for our new members, also anything you would like to be placed about your business in our binders. I, like most of you are extremely busy over the holidays, so I realize how easily we can forget about our SWORN fliers. Please tack up your fliers in 3 local businesses. Don't forget to cut the tabs so women can easily tear one off.

Our guest speaker will be Danielle Flemming from Danielle and Company. She will be making a power presentation on marketing. It should be very interesting.

In case anyone didn't see the Abington Jo

We received a very kind thank you from Dolly Woody and the local Susan G. Komen foundation this past month for our donation.
